Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This page says what Joi stores, what each thing is for, and which of it you can refuse without anything breaking.

What we store

Strictly necessary

Cannot be refused

Your sign-in session, the security token that stops somebody else submitting a form as you, and the record of which cookie choices you already made. Refusing these would mean the site could not keep you signed in, so there is no toggle for them.

Preferences

Optional

Small things the site remembers so you do not set them twice: language, and whether you have already dismissed a notice. Refuse them and the site works — it just forgets.

Analytics

Optional, off until you agree

Aggregate measurement: how many people reached a page, which route they took, where a flow broke. It is about pages, not people, and it is not used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.

What we do not do with them

We do not sell cookie data, or share it with advertising networks to target you elsewhere.
We do not use cookies to work out who you are across other websites.
We do not put the contents of a video chat anywhere — there is nothing to store, because chats are not recorded.

Other storage

Browsers also offer local storage, and Joi uses it for the same kinds of thing as the preference cookies above — remembering a setting so you do not choose it again. It is cleared by the same browser controls that clear cookies.

Changing your mind

Every browser can block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. Clearing everything for joivideochat.live signs you out and resets your preferences, which is the expected result rather than a fault.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in working. That is not us being difficult — a session that cannot be remembered is not a session.

What happens to your data more broadly is in the privacy policy. Anything this page does not answer goes to the contact page.
