About Joi Video Chat
Joi Video Chat is a live one-to-one video chat at joivideochat.live. You open it, allow your camera, and get matched with someone who is on camera at that moment. That is the entire product.
What it is for
Most ways of meeting someone online front-load the boring part. You write, you wait, you read a bio that was written to be read, and three days later you finally find out whether there was anything there. Sometimes there was. Usually there was not, and you spent three days finding out.
A live video chat reverses that. You get the ten seconds that actually decide it, immediately, and you pay for them with the discomfort of being seen. For a lot of people that is a bad trade and they should use something else. For the rest, it is the only version of this that has ever worked.
Four decisions the product is built on
Camera first, always
Every chat opens on video. There is no text-only mode and no way to be matched while invisible, because a one-way call is not a conversation and everyone can tell who is hiding.
A queue, not a catalogue
You set a preference and get matched. You never browse a grid of people, because a grid cannot promise that anyone in it is awake, available or willing to pick up. A queue can.
Leaving costs nothing
One tap ends any chat with no message sent and no explanation owed. This is the feature that makes starting one easy, and it is not negotiable in either direction.
Nothing is recorded
There is no replay, no archive and no highlights reel. A chat exists while it is happening; when it ends there is nothing to scroll back to, for you or for anyone else.
What Joi is not
- Not a broadcast. Your video goes to one person at a time. There is no room, no audience and no viewer count.
- Not a dating app. There are no profiles to swipe, no matches to accumulate and no inbox to maintain.
- Not free. Opening Joi and getting matched cost nothing, but live calls run on coins at a rate set per person. You see that rate before a call connects, and nobody is billed for a call they did not accept.
- Not a store download. Joi is a web app — it runs on the web platform, and adding it to your home screen installs it with its own icon and window.
Reaching us
Reports about a specific person go through the report option in the call itself, or on their profile, your chat with them, or the live room, which is the fastest route: pick a reason, add details and up to 3 screenshots. Everything else — questions, billing, press, takedown requests — goes to the contact page.
